Lake Chippewa is the largest natural inland lake in the state of Ohio. On the banks of the lake lies a small village of the same name, Lake Chippewa. There is also the Chippewa inlet trail and Buckeye Woods Park, a natural land and wildlife preserve, which provides visitors with a scenic 1.75 mile trail from Buckeye Woods park to the Chippewa Road. Also on the lake is the old abandoned amusement park known as Chippewa Lake Park. Some of the original attractions still reside on the park grounds, although it was closed in 1978. It has also become known for being one of the popular haunted attractions of the area and even of the state.
